Croatia, Slovakia and Czech players excelled at the conclusion of the Fujairah Women’s Tennis International

Croatian, Slovak and Czech players excelled in the competitions of the first edition of the Fujairah International Women’s Championship W75, which was organized by the Fujairah Tennis Club in cooperation with the Emirates Tennis Federation, and under the supervision of the International Tennis Federation, and concluded this evening, Saturday, after they achieved the first places.
The winners were crowned by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Tennis Club, Abdul Ghafour Bahrozyan, and the Secretary-General of the Tennis Federation, Nasser Yousef Al-Marzouqi, in the presence of the Senior Director of Strategy and Track at the International Tennis Federation Championships, James Cooney, and the Club Director, Hania Riki. The value of the prizes amounted to 60 thousand dollars.
The first place in the women’s singles was won by the Croatian player Markenko, who is ranked 116th in the world.
After her victory in the final match over the Russian player Ibragimova, ranked (400), in two clean sets (6-4), while in the women’s doubles competition, the first place was won by the Slovakian Hronkokova, ranked (219), and her Czech colleague Valdemanova, ranked (340), after beating Britain’s Mika Stoisavlevic and the Austrian, Olivia Gadecki, in two clean sets (6-3) and (6-4).
The Secretary General of the Tennis Federation, Nasser Yousef Al Marzouqi, congratulated the winners of the tournament in its first edition and congratulated the Fujairah Tennis Club for its distinguished efforts that led to the success of the tournament in a distinguished way. He expressed his happiness at the high technical levels witnessed in the tournament, in which 67 players participated, including 5 local players and high-ranking players, which paved the way for presenting good technical levels. He described the success as a complement to the tournaments that were organized in Fujairah previously.
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Tennis Club, Abdul Ghafour Behrouzian, revealed that there will be another tournament that will be held in January with a higher classification and prizes amounting to 100 thousand dollars, expecting it to appear in a stronger technical form as well as the participation of the largest number of international female players in its competitions.
For her part, the club director, Hania Riki, described the tournament as a new organizational, societal and artistic addition to the Fujairah Tennis Club, and stressed that the club will continue to be keen to host the strongest tournaments and provide the best means of success.
