Al Ain, November 29 / WAM / The filly “Safiya” Lias Racing, under the supervision of Majid Al Jahouri and led by Abdulaziz Al Balushi, won the fifth race title by more than 10 lengths, in the second race of the current season at the Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club.
The race was held yesterday evening, and consisted of 7 rounds for purebred Arabian horses, with a total prize pool of 505 thousand dirhams.
The winners were crowned by Mohammed Rashid Al Naseri, General Manager of Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club Track, Faisal Al Rahmani, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, General Supervisor of Racing at Al Ain Club, and Ali Farouk, Director of Equestrianism at the Club.
“Tarweej” by Liwa Stables, under the supervision of coach Saeed Al Shamsi and led by jockey Bernardo Pinheiro, won the first half title for horses aged 4 years and above over a distance of 2000 metres, with prizes of 70 thousand dirhams.
“Makhalid” of Al-Asayel Stables, under the supervision of trainer Anthony Jamil, and led by jockey Sam Hitchcott, won the second half cup for a distance of 1800 meters for horses aged 4 years and above, “Emirates Breed”, and its prizes were 70 thousand dirhams.
RB French Dude for Byerley Racing, under the supervision of trainers Hilal and Tahnoun Al Alawi and led by jockey Hamid Al Busaidi, clinched the title of the third and main race for a distance of 1,800 meters for horses aged 4 years and above, with prizes of 85 thousand dirhams.
“Bayed” by Sheikha Al-Yazia bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, under the supervision of coach Ibrahim Al-Hadrami and led by jockey Ray Dawson, won the fourth round prize for a distance of 1,600 meters for beginner purebred Arabian horses aged 3 years and above, and its financial prizes were 70 thousand dirhams.
The colt “DH Al Bahr” for Abu Dhabi Racing Stables, under the supervision of trainer Saif Al Marar and led by jockey Sandro Paiva, topped the sixth heat, over a distance of 1,400 meters, for horses aged 4 years and above, “beginners”, and his prizes were 70 thousand dirhams.
The mare, “Jamra,” by Abdullah Omar Masoud, under the supervision of trainer Ibrahim Al-Hadrami and led by jockey Ray Dawson, concluded the evening by achieving a “double” in the seventh heat for a distance of 1,000 meters for horses aged 4 years and above, with prizes of 70 thousand dirhams.
