Mona Al-Raisi wins the position of Vice President of the Arab Handball Federation

She wonHe joined the Board of Directors of the UAE Handball Federation Dr. Mona Ibrahim Al-Raisi was appointed as Vice President of the Arab Handball Federation for the women’s component, by acclamation, for the 2026-2028 electoral cycle, during the General Assembly meeting of the Arab Federation, which was held today in the city of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The election of Al-Raisi came within the formation of the new Board of Directors of the Arab Handball Federation, headed by Hassan Nasr Hilal, who won the position of President by acclamation, while Khaled Fathi won the position of Vice-President. The Moroccan Adli Al-Hanafi was recommended as Vice-President for the Maghreb countries, the Omani Musa Al-Balushi for the Arab Gulf countries, and the Jordanian Tayseer Mansi for the countries of the northern Arab world.

The UAE Handball Federation participated in the work of the General Assembly with a delegation headed by it President of the Union Saud Ibrahim Saleh, and Damm Secretary General of the Union Abdul Salam Rabie Al Muhairbi, andMember of the Board of Directors Dr. Mona Ibrahim Al-Raisi.

Al-Raisi’s victory is a confirmation of the distinguished Emirati presence in Arab sports bodies, and a continuation of her career in sports administrative work, as she previously won membership in the Women’s Committee in the Asian Handball Confederation, and through her various roles she contributed to supporting and developing women’s participation in the game.

Al-Raisi expressed her happiness with the victory, stressing that the trust she received from the Arab federations represents a great responsibility and motivation to continue working to develop Arab women’s handball and enhance its presence at various levels.

She said that this position represents a new opportunity for joint work with Arab federations in order to launch specific initiatives and programs that contribute to empowering women in handball, expanding the practice base for the game, and supporting the exchange of expertise and successful experiences in a way that serves the development of women’s handball in the Arab world.
