6 players in the modern pentathlon team in preparation for the World Championship

The UAE modern pentathlon team has intensified its preparations before participating in the World Championship in South Africa during the period from 6 to 14 December next. Six players from the team’s roster are organizing in a strong camp on the beach of the city of Kalba, with 6 players in the under-9 and 13-year-old categories. Participation in the world championship will be in biathle (running and swimming), triathlon (running, shooting and swimming), and laser run (running and shooting), and members of our team players are: Hamdan Hamad Al-Qaidi, Muhammad Khaled Al-Qaidi, Saeed Omar Al-Ketbi, under 9 years old, and Dhiab Omar Al-Ketbi, Salem Tamim Al-Ketbi, and Hamid Saeed Al-Ketbi, under 13 years old. The team is coached by Muhammad Qasim Khalil.
Dr. Hoda Al Matroushi expressed her happiness at the level of players in the current camp, before participating in the first global event of this size in the World Championship, which will be held on Santos Beach in Mossel Bay, South Africa. She said: “The event is the first for this group of young players whom we are preparing for the future of the game, and the training camp in the city of Kalba started in the middle of this November, and there is full commitment from the players and the technical staff to what is planned for this tournament so that we can honor Emirati sports in their first appearance.”
Hoda Al Matroushi said: “Participation is the first international for these young elements, and of course they will benefit greatly through contact with other elements from different countries around the world. We must continue the approach of refining our players in this complex sport with the experiences that will only come through diverse participation in all foreign forums until we reach a level that enables us to achieve what we want in the future from our players by climbing onto podiums.”
She added: “We are monitoring the technical and physical level of our players in the camp through coach Muhammad Qasim Khalil, who is making a great effort with the team members to reach the appropriate physical level before the start of the competitions, which are scheduled for the period from 8 to 13 December, and our team returns to the homeland the next day.”
Our team’s delegation to South Africa is headed by Dr. Hoda Al Matroushi, along with board members Ahmed Al Badi and Adnan Al Hashemi.
