500 dirhams, 4 traffic points, and vehicle impoundment for 15 days, penalty for marching in marches without a permit.

The Sharjah Police General Command confirmed that Article 94 of the law stipulates that driving vehicles in parades without a permit or in other than permissible conditions carries a fine of 500 dirhams, 4 traffic points, and the vehicle must be impounded for 15 days.

Sharjah Police explained through its digital platform, as part of the “Community Culture” campaign, that this violation means that the driver may not participate in marches or traffic gatherings except after obtaining an official permit from the competent authorities, and that marching in a march without a permit or at an unauthorized time or place is considered a traffic violation that leads to a fine of 500 dirhams, the registration of 4 black points, and the impoundment of the vehicle for a period of 15 days for a light vehicle.

She added: “With the celebrations of the 54th Federation Day of the United Arab Emirates, we celebrate the spirit of unity and love, and at the same time we remember the importance of preserving the safety of our children and encourage a culture of awareness by keeping children in safe places and not leaving them playing in the streets to ensure a happy and safe celebration for everyone and participate in building a more aware and responsible society.”

The Ministry of Interior recently announced the legal controls governing the celebration and decoration of vehicles during the 54th Union Day celebrations, stressing that these instructions aim to ensure the safety of road users and limit any practices that may pose a danger to lives or property.

The controls included adherence to approved posters only, preventing the placement of any slogans, signs or posters not related to Union Day in accordance with the approved controls and conditions, preventing the holding of marches and random gatherings on public roads, and not disrupting traffic, closing roads, or causing traffic obstruction in any way.

It also included not loading the vehicle more than the permitted number, preventing passengers from exiting from the windows or sunroof of the vehicle at all, prohibiting display movements or dangerous behavior on internal and external roads, and the importance of adhering to traffic rules and following the instructions of police officers.

It was emphasized that it is prohibited to cover the side or front windows with stickers or to use front sunshades, to prohibit adding noise materials or to make unauthorized modifications to the vehicle’s chassis, engine, or appendages that may obstruct vision, to not wear scarves except for those related to Union Day, to prevent the use of spray sprays (party spray) by the driver, passengers, or pedestrians, to prevent raising the volume of songs and anthems except those approved and specific to Union Day, and to not obliterate or cover number plates, or change the color of the vehicle, or darken or tint the windshield.

Among the controls that were announced, decoration shops adhere to the controls and are prohibited from installing any posters or flags except for the flag of the UAE or approved posters and prohibiting the raising of flags of other countries during the celebration period, with the exception of the flag of the United Arab Emirates.

The Ministry confirmed that legal measures will be taken against any vehicle that violates the instructions, including issuing fines and impounding vehicles that do not comply with the controls and instructions.

The Ministry of Interior called on community members to cooperate and celebrate in a patriotic and responsible spirit, in a way that reflects the civilized image of the UAE and its constant commitment to safety and mutual respect on the roads.
