Poland: Extending flight restrictions on parades near the borders of Ukraine and Belarus until March 9

Poland decided to extend the restrictions imposed on the flying of drones in the border areas with Ukraine and Belarus until next March 9, in light of the continuing security threats resulting from incursions of drones and balloons through the airspace of Eastern European countries.
These restrictions, known as the “EP R129” exclusion zone, which were imposed for the first time last September 10 as a three-month measure, include a flight ban. Drones and limiting the movement of private civil aviation at night within a range of 26 to 50 kilometers from the border, and these measures do not include commercial flights, according to what was reported by the Polish News Agency “PAP”.

These incidents are not limited to Poland, as neighboring countries are facing a similar wave of incursions. In November, Romanian F-16 fighter jets and a Eurofighter took off. Germany after drones penetrated a distance of more than 100 kilometers into Romanian territory.
In the same month, Moldova recorded the entry of six drones into its airspace, one of which fell on a house near the Ukrainian border, which led to evacuations and the summoning of bomb disposal teams.
The increase in these illegal aerial activities led NATO countries and the European Union to strengthen their defenses, with plans to establish a “drone wall” being advanced. Regional among front-line countries, to ensure a coordinated response to the increasing air threats in the east of the continent.
