More than 10 years after its disappearance, Malaysia resumes the search for Flight MH370

Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport said today that the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 will resume on December 30, more than 10 years after the Beijing-bound plane disappeared in one of the world’s biggest aviation mysteries.

Flight MH370, a Boeing 777, was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members when it disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in 2014.

The most recent search for the plane in the southern Indian Ocean was halted in April this year due to bad weather.

The Ministry of Transport said in a statement that Ocean Infinity confirmed that it would resume the search for the plane in the waters for a period of 55 days, provided that this would be intermittent.
