Video: A presenter collapses during a live broadcast
British TV presenter Laura Woods collapsed live during ITV’s coverage of the friendly match between England and Ghana in women’s football, on Tuesday.
Woods fainted during the preparatory segment for the match on the side of the court, so analysts Ian Wright and Anita Asante rushed to catch her as she was about to fall, before the channel cut off the broadcast and moved to a commercial break.
After coverage resumed, her colleague Katie Shanahan appeared to say: “As you may have noticed, Laura Woods has suddenly fallen ill, and I will be taking over in her place.”
Later, her fiancé, Tom Collard, reassured followers on the “X” platform, saying: “Laura is fine under the care of the right people. We thank you for your kind messages.” (Sky News)
