Al-Budaiwi reviews the achievements of the Cooperation Council during the 46th Gulf Summit

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, affirmed that the GCC countries demonstrated this year their cohesion and unity of destiny through their collective stance towards the two incidents to which the State of Qatar was exposed, namely the Iranian missile attacks and the Israeli aggression, stressing that the security of Qatar is an integral part of the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

During the 46th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Al-Budaiwi reiterated the firm Gulf position towards the Palestinian issue, and the necessity of ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, appreciating the international and regional efforts, most notably the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the conferences that supported the path of the two-state solution and stopping the war on Gaza.

Al-Budaiwi reviewed the most prominent achievements of joint Gulf action during the year 2025, which included expanding international partnerships through summits and meetings with important countries and regional groups, in addition to tangible progress in the areas of military cooperation, implementing the decisions of the Joint Defense Council, and conducting naval exercises and joint maneuvers.

He also discussed progress in economic integration paths, including the establishment of the Gulf Civil Aviation Authority, the start of implementation of the Gulf Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the strengthening of the customs union project and the Gulf common market, the launch of the Gulf Industrial Platform, in addition to the start of free trade negotiations with Malaysia.

On the legislative and security side, Al Budawi pointed out the adoption of a set of unified guides and regulations, strengthening efforts to combat corruption and money laundering, and preparing for joint security exercises and the Global Gulf Security Conference, which the UAE will host in 2027.

At the conclusion of his speech, the Secretary-General confirmed that the Ministerial Council submitted to the summit the results and recommendations related to joint Gulf action files.
