Scenarios for qualifying in the first group of the Arab Cup
The Qatar and Tunisia national teams are on the verge of being eliminated early from the first round of the 2025 Arab Football Cup by Syria and Palestine after they were the most prominent candidates to advance to the next round.
The first group of the tournament witnessed heavy surprises, as “Al-Annabi” was exposed Qatari and the “Eagles of Carthage” team Two surprising defeats to both the Palestinian and Syrian national teams, respectively, with one score, 1-0, in the opening round of the tournament.
Then Qatar and Tunisia fell in the second round into a draw against Syria (1-1) and Palestine (2-2), respectively.
After the matches of the first and second rounds, the Palestine national team is at the top of the first group with four points, ahead of its Syrian runner-up on goal difference.
While Tunisia and Qatar occupy third and fourth places respectively with one point each.
Tunisia and Qatar have little chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals, unlike Syria and Palestine.
