11 killed in a hotel shooting in South Africa

Police in South Africa announced that gunmen stormed a hotel in the capital, Pretoria, today, and opened fire, killing 11 people, including a three-year-old child.
This attack is the latest in a series of mass shootings in the crime-ridden country with a population of 63 million.
Police spokeswoman Athlinda Mathie confirmed that 25 people were injured by bullets, adding that 14 people were taken to hospital.
She explained that ten people died at the scene of the incident in the town of Soulsville, 18 kilometers west of Pretoria, while another died in hospital.
Three gunmen entered the building at around 4:30 am and opened fire randomly on a group of men who were gathered in the hotel.
A 12-year-old child and a 16-year-old child were also killed in the attack.
“It is a very unfortunate incident. The police were not informed of the incident until around six o’clock,” Mathie continued.
The motive for the shooting is not yet known, and no suspects have been arrested.
