The Palestinian President discusses by telephone with the German Chancellor the latest developments in the situation in Gaza and the West Bank

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, today, Saturday, discussed by telephone with German Chancellor Frederick Merz the latest political developments, the situation in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and ways to strengthen regional and international efforts to stop the war and achieve just and lasting peace.
Abbas appreciated – according to what was reported by the Palestinian news agency “Wafa” – – Germany’s positions in support of international law and the two-state solution, and its rejection of settlement, annexation and displacement policy.
He stressed the State of Palestine’s categorical rejection of all forms of racism, hatred and violence, stressing that they are completely inconsistent with the values of the Palestinian people and their national and humanitarian principles, noting that Palestine will hold municipal elections next April 16, and is working in parallel to prepare a transitional constitution and a modern law for political parties that allows the participation of those who commit to it. In accordance with international obligations and international legitimacy resolutions, and in a manner that enshrines the principle of one state, one law, and one legitimate weapon.
