The Asian Arm Wrestling Cup kicks off in Ajman with the participation of 25 countries

Ajman, 7 December / WAM / The Asian Cup of Open Arm Wrestling competitions were launched today at the Ajman Youth Centre, which is sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Media in Ajman, and organized by the Asian Arm Wrestling Federation and the Emirates Body Building and Fitness Federation, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Body Building and Fitness Federation.
The tournament continues until December 9, with wide participation from 25 countries and more than 200 players from around the world, in addition to distinguished participation by UAE national and resident players, in multiple categories for men and women.
The first day witnessed a large turnout of arm wrestling fans, who came to watch the competitions and enjoy the enthusiastic atmosphere that accompanied the start of the tournament.
His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashemi, Director General of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Information in Ajman, stressed that organizing the tournament reflects the growing position of the emirate as a leading destination for hosting international sporting events.
He said that the launch of the Asian Open Arm Wrestling Championship in the Emirate of Ajman highlights its growing position as a preferred destination for hosting international sporting events, and we affirm our continued support for everything that contributes to enhancing the emirate’s presence on the sports and tourism map. We also value the efforts made by the organizers and partners to make this event a success, which is a qualitative addition to the sporting events agenda in the emirate, with the ambition of providing an integrated organizational experience that reflects Ajman’s advanced position in the sports sector.
For his part, Asen Harjitodorov, President of the International Armwrestling Federation, confirmed that the Emirate of Ajman has become a global destination for hosting sporting events, pointing out the Federation’s aspiration to present a high-level tournament that brings together players from different countries in strong competitions, and appreciating the support of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Media and its keenness on the success of the event and expanding its spread globally.
