The mayor, Engineer Mohammed Al-Mutairi, revealed the details of the operational plan, which focused on distributing emergency and rapid intervention teams according to an accurate field map that included all the sites that were monitored as critical points for water accumulation.
For this purpose, the municipality recruited a trained human force of more than 110 employees, drivers and workers, to ensure an immediate and effective response to any reports or emergency situations that may result from the expected weather fluctuations.
The municipality supported its field teams with a fleet of heavy and medium equipment amounting to 50 various machines, which included high-efficiency pumps for Water suction and vehicles equipped for rapid intervention were stationed in strategic locations.
The municipality was keen to activate a joint operations room in coordination with the concerned authorities and contractors, to form support teams working around the clock to ensure the continuity of flood drainage and water withdrawal works without interruption.
Engineer Al-Mutairi directed the intensification of preventive maintenance operations for rain drainage networks and canals, which included cleaning manholes and network lines, and conducting hydraulic tests to ensure their integrity. The smooth flow of water and the efficiency of the system.
The municipality concluded its preparations by calling on citizens and residents to be partners in public safety, by immediately reporting any water accumulations or field observations through the Reports and Emergency Center “940” to ensure rapid treatment.
