Greece is president of the Eurogroup

BRUSSELS, December 11, 2017 (WAM) – The Finance Ministers of the Eurozone countries today elected the Greek Minister of Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Perakakis, as President of the Eurogroup for a term of two and a half years. The Eurogroup is an informal body that includes ministers of the Eurozone countries to discuss issues related to the single currency, coordinate economic policies, and prepare for Euro summit meetings. Its meetings began in 1998.
