Antonio Guterres called on the parties to agree on an immediate cessation of hostilities, and to resume talks to reach a permanent ceasefire, and a comprehensive and inclusive political process led by Sudanese, stressing the full readiness of the United Nations to support serious steps to end and charting a path towards lasting peace.
