Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo rose to 671
The number of infections with the Ebolain the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, after the Ministry of Health reported 671 suspected cases and 160 suspected deaths, and 64 cases and six deaths were confirmed through laboratory tests.
For its part, the World Health Organization reported recording nearly 600 suspected cases and more than 130 suspected deaths.
Ebola outbreak
In neighboring Uganda, the Ministry of Health said it had not recorded Any new infections are detected in addition to the two previously confirmed cases, which belong to Congolese citizens.
According to the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the outbreak began in Ituri Province in northeastern Congo, which borders Uganda and South Sudan. This is the seventeenth recorded outbreak of Ebola in Congo since 1976 and includes a strain of "Bundibugyo" Rare virus.
