ENOC concludes a memorandum of understanding to explore opportunities for distributing low-carbon fuel to the aviation sector

Dubai, May 23 / WAM / ENOC Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Allied Biofuels Holding to explore opportunities for cooperation in purchasing and distributing sustainable aviation fuel and sustainable electric aviation fuel in the local, regional and international markets, in a step that supports the development of a low-carbon fuel system for the aviation sector.
Under the memorandum, the two companies will evaluate the commercial feasibility of establishing a long-term distribution path for sustainable aviation fuel and sustainable aviation electric fuel, with the fuel being supplied from an integrated production facility developed by Allied Biofuels Holding Company in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The two companies agreed to form a specialized work team to study the operational and commercial aspects of the project, in preparation for concluding a formal supply agreement before the facility begins operating.
Hussain Sultan Lootah, CEO of ENOC Group, said that developing a national system for sustainable aviation fuel requires the integration of all stages of the value chain, starting from production and issuing accreditation certificates to distribution and advance purchase, stressing that the agreement is consistent with the national roadmap for sustainable aviation fuels 2030 and the UAE strategy for climate neutrality 2050.
He added that ENOC seeks to enhance the commercial viability and operational reliability of sustainable aviation fuel in a way that supports achieving climate neutrality for the aviation sector in the UAE.
For his part, Alfred Benedict, General Manager of Allied Biofuels Holding, said that the partnership represents an important step towards developing a reliable path for the supply of sustainable aviation fuel from the company’s facility in Uzbekistan to the local, regional and global markets, noting that the company is focusing on building an expandable supply platform to support efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the aviation sector.
