UAE relief teams conclude their humanitarian missions in Sri Lanka

Emirati relief teams concluded their humanitarian missions in the Republic of Sri Lanka, as part of the urgent response launched by the United Arab Emirates, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to support those affected by Cyclone Daytoh and the landslides that the country witnessed.

UAE relief teams participated in providing urgent humanitarian aid, totaling 116 tons, which varied between food and shelter materials, and included tents and relief bags, as part of efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering of affected families.

The Emirates Search and Rescue Team contributed to carrying out specialized field operations, during which the bodies of 20 missing persons were recovered, in addition to treating 8 people with minor injuries, in coordination with the relevant local authorities.

Humanitarian work is a well-established approach for the UAE, and these efforts are an embodiment of its keenness to stand by the people affected by natural disasters, provide continuous support to the Republic of Sri Lanka, and support those affected until they overcome the effects of this disaster and recover from it.
