Police: The death toll from the Sydney attack has risen to 16

The Shooting during a Jewish holiday celebration on Bondi Beach in Australia to 16 dead and at least 40 injured, according to what the police announced early Monday morning local time.

New South Wales State Police confirmed via the XN platform "16 people died and 40 people are still receiving treatment in hospital after Yesterday’s shooting incident in Bondi"

The police statement did not specify whether the toll included one of the two shooters who died in the attack.
