Contain Indian authorities outbreak of Nipah Virus After two cases of infection were confirmed in the state of West Bengal, located in eastern India, while many Asian countries tightened health screening and monitoring procedures at airports for travelers coming from India.
The Indian Ministry of Health announced yesterday that two cases of infection with the Nipah Virus had been monitored since December, and imposed a quarantine on all contacts who were identified and subjected to examination.

The danger of this virus lies in the fact that its death rate is very high, reaching 75%, and there are no ways to treat it, no medications to deal with it, and not even vaccines against it, as infection means death at a rate ranging between 40% to 75%.
The virus is transmitted from bats to animals and then to humans, and India is afraid of an increase in the number of infected people and its further spread.
