"Dubai Economic Security" Launches a national awareness campaign under the slogan: "Strong economy/conscious society"
Dubai, December 15 / WAM / The Dubai Center for Economic Security launched a comprehensive national awareness campaign under the slogan “Strong Economy / Conscious Society”, with the aim of supporting government efforts in protecting the national economy, confronting economic fraudulent practices in its various forms, and establishing community awareness as a first line of defense to ensure the sustainability of a safe business environment in Dubai.
The campaign comes in light of the rapid development of economic fraud methods, which now employ modern technologies and advanced means of deception to target individuals and institutions alike.
These methods include misleading commercial advertisements, deepfake techniques, online buying and selling, theft of bank card data via fake links, email and text message fraud, fictitious investments with imaginary returns, manipulation of digital currencies and financial markets, and fictitious business deals or partnerships.
His Excellency Faisal bin Sulaiteen, CEO of the Dubai Center for Economic Security, said on this occasion that economic fraud methods are witnessing rapid development, taking advantage of modern technologies, which enhances our responsibility in raising the level of societal awareness and providing individuals and institutions with the knowledge and tools necessary to confront these challenges efficiently. We proceed from the firm conviction that protecting the economy is a shared responsibility, and that the strength of our economy stems from the awareness of our society.
He added that the Dubai Center for Economic Security is working to establish a culture of awareness as a main pillar in the economic security system, by strengthening partnerships between government agencies, the private sector and various segments of society, and developing proactive mechanisms to monitor and address illegal practices.
He explained that the campaign aims to enable the public to identify new fraudulent methods, in a way that preserves Dubai’s gains and supports the sustainability of its economic growth and global leadership.
Bin Sulaiteen stressed that the launch of the campaign represents an advanced step in Dubai’s efforts to enhance a business environment based on transparency and trust, and an extension of the Dubai government’s vision of building a safer and more sustainable economy, based on knowledge and community awareness in the face of emerging economic risks.
The Center called on community members to interact with the campaign through the hashtags #BeAware and #Together_Let’s_Fortify_Our_Economy, by sharing awareness messages and contributing to enhancing public awareness regarding the dangers of economic fraud.
The Dubai Center for Economic Security confirms that this campaign represents an extension of the efforts of the Dubai government to strengthen its position as a global city for business and investment, combining accelerated economic growth with an integrated security system, thus consolidating its position as one of the safest and most stable cities in the world in the areas of finance, business and investment.
