Because of a song "Number one, Ansas".. Supporting the imprisonment of the artist Mohamed Ramadan for two years

The Dokki Misdemeanor Court of Appeal ruled today, Wednesday, to uphold the ruling issued to imprison the artist, Mohamed Ramadan, for two years, with a bail of 1,000 pounds, and a fine of 10,000 pounds, after he was accused of releasing his song “Number One, Ansas.” Through his official channel on the YouTube platform, without obtaining the necessary legal permits.
The events of Case No. 9213 are due to the artist publishing an audiovisual artistic work without a license from the Ministry of Culture, in clear violation of the provisions of the Law for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights and Artistic Works, which requires obtaining prior approval before displaying or making any artistic work available to the public.
After referring the incident to the Public Prosecution, the latter initiated investigations that ended with the accused being referred to trial before the misdemeanor court. In the merits of its ruling, the court relied on proving the accusation based on the technical evidence and documents provided, and decided to support the prison sentence, in implementation of the provisions of the laws regulating creativity and intellectual property rights.
