The Foreign Minister and his Seychellois counterpart discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation

Minister Abdel-Aty stressed the importance of raising the level of economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, especially in Tourism, renewable energy, environment and maritime security sectors, and benefiting from the opportunities offered by the two countries’ membership in the COMESA. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also noted the comparative advantage enjoyed by Egyptian medicines in Africa, expressing his aspiration to cooperate with the Seychellois side to facilitate the access of Egyptian medicine to Seychelles and meet the needs of the health sector, as well as encouraging Egyptian investments in the field of tourism, construction and management of tourist resorts, and increasing the penetration of Egyptian products related to hotel equipment.
Minister Abdel-Ati also stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in the areas of training and capacity building and benefiting from the programs and courses organized by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership For development, especially in areas that represent a priority for the Seychelles side, in addition to strengthening security cooperation, especially in the Indian Ocean and Red Sea regions, to confront maritime challenges, secure shipping lanes, protect coasts, and combat piracy.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two ministers exchanged visions on ways to support peace and security and achieve comprehensive development on the African continent, and they agreed to continue coordination and consultation in the bilateral framework and within multilateral frameworks, especially within the African Union, and to continue exchanging nominations in various forums.
