Hind Rajab’s stories"Palestine 36" Shortlisted for the 98th Oscars

The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced; The shortlist for the 98th edition of the Academy Awards, which witnessed the presence of prominent Palestinian works.

Palestinian stories decorate the shortlist for the Best Foreign Language Film award at the Academy Awards, as two films distributed by MAD Solutions that tell Palestinian stories coming from the heart, namely the Palestinian film Palestine 36 by director Anne-Marie Jacir and the Tunisian film The Voice of Hind Rajab by director Kawthar Ben Haniyeh, reached a historic moment for Palestinian and Arab cinema on Both.

 

 

 

 

This news coincides with the participation of the two films in the 36th session of the Carthage Film Festival, in addition to their showing within the Cinemade initiative launched by the distribution company MAD Solutions in all cinemas in the Arab world, where The Voice of Hind Rajab begins showing now in Egypt and Palestine, and tomorrow in the rest of the Arab world, while Palestine 36 in Egypt on Wednesday, December 31, and in the Gulf countries from the following Thursday.

The film “The Voice of Hind Rajab” participates in By Tunisian director Kawthar Ben Hania as Tunisia’s representative at the Academy Awards, after winning the Silver Lion Grand Jury Award during its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.

The film closed the 46th session of the Cairo International Film Festival, and also participated in the Toronto International Film Festival. It was also chosen to be the closing film of the Cairo Festival in its next session.

His story revolves around On January 29, 2024, Red Crescent volunteers received a call emergency; Where a six-year-old girl was stuck in a car under occupation fire in Gaza, begging to be rescued. While they were trying to keep her on the line, they did their best to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.

The film Palestine 36 was written and directed by Anne-Marie Jacir, Palestine’s representative at the Oscars, and had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film is an international co-production between Palestine, Britain, France, Denmark, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and its events take place in Palestine in 1936. Between his rural home and the bustling city of Jerusalem, Youssef moves yearning for a future beyond the growing turmoil in Palestine as a result of the revolution against British rule.
