Intensive preparations by the Sharjah City Municipality for the rainy season

The Sharjah City Municipality confirmed its readiness for the rainy season and dealing with various weather conditions according to integrated work plans and strategies.

The Director-General of the Municipality and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Rain Emergencies, Obaid Saeed Al-Tunaiji, said that the municipality has reconstituted the Supreme Committee for Rain Emergencies by adding subcommittees and field tasks that work to implement plans and actions related to emergency situations and follow up on work continuity with capacity and efficiency.

He pointed out that the committee undertakes general supervision of all field work, ensuring speed of response and coordination between various departments and stakeholders, and coordination directly and continuously with strategic partners.

He explained that the municipality allocated a team of engineers, supervisors, technicians and workers from support groups to support field response efforts and distribute them according to an operational plan covering all areas of the city.

He confirmed that the municipality carried out a campaign to maintain rainwater drainage holes.

Al-Tunaiji said: The municipality’s call center works on the number 993 around the clock and continuously and deals with it immediately.
