Paris Saint-Germain is champion of the Confederations Cup
The French team, Paris Saint-Germain, ended its exceptional year in the best way, after winning the FIFA Confederations Cup (Intercontinental Cup), following a 2-1 victory on penalties, over the Brazilian Flamengo today, in the final of the international competition, in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The original and extra time ended in a 1-1 draw, as Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored for Saint-Germain in the 38th minute, while Italian Jorginho equalized for Flamengo in the 62nd minute from a penalty kick.
The two teams were unable to score during extra time, which lasted half an hour, divided equally into two halves, and in the end decided to go to penalty kicks, which ultimately smiled in favor of Saint-Germain, thanks to the extraordinary brilliance of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who saved four penalty kicks from Flamengo players.
Thus, Paris Saint-Germain won its sixth title in 2025, which will bid us farewell a few days later, after having previously won the French Super Cup in Qatar, the French League, the French Cup, the European Champions League, and the European Super Cup.
