Manchester City threatens to sue a candidate for the presidency of Real Madrid over Haaland

English club Manchester City is examining its legal options to respond to the controversial statements made by Eric Riquelme, a candidate for the Spanish club Real Madrid’s presidential elections, regarding the future of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.
According to what was revealed by the journalist specializing in the transfer market, Fabrizio Romano, the City administration is seriously considering filing a lawsuit against Riquelme, after he claimed that Haaland would join Real Madrid if he wins the Royal Club presidential elections.
Manchester City’s management denied these reports completely, stressing that these allegations were completely false. The English club is also considering taking strict legal measures against the Spanish candidate, on charges of deliberately exploiting the name and image of their player for the purposes of election propaganda without right.
These moves come from Manchester City to protect their first star and maintain the stability of the team from the rumors that usually accompany electoral battles in major Spanish clubs.
