"Dubai Electricity and Water" It awards a contract worth 216 million dirhams to enhance the efficiency of water transportation networks

Dubai, December 18 / WAM / Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has awarded a new contract worth 216 million dirhams to implement a strategic project aimed at raising the efficiency and reliability of water transmission networks in a number of regions of the Emirate of Dubai. The contract includes the supply, installation, testing and operation of glass-reinforced (GRE) water transport pipelines of various diameters, in addition to carrying out supporting works in multiple locations in the emirate.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, confirmed that the Authority is continuing to enhance production and operational efficiency and raise the level of reliability in water transmission networks in various regions of Dubai, in support of the sustainable development process in the emirate.

The project includes the installation, testing and operation of a main water transmission line extending over a length of 7.1 km, in addition to implementing 20 sites to connect the transmission and distribution networks with each other to raise the flow and pressure in the network in different areas of Dubai, thus enhancing the readiness of the water transmission system and increasing its ability to meet the growing demand.

The project aims to ensure the provision of the necessary water supplies to meet the rapid increase in demand, to serve current projects and meet future needs. The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months, to contribute to supporting the advanced infrastructure system and multi-sector development projects in Dubai.
