State Public Prosecution: Trading in fireworks or manufacturing them without a license is a crime punishable by law

Abu Dhabi, 19 March / WAM / The State Public Prosecution stressed that violating the legal controls related to fireworks is a crime punishable by law, stressing that Article (54) of Federal Decree Law No. (17) of 2019 regarding weapons, ammunition, explosives, military equipment, and dangerous materials stipulates a penalty of imprisonment for a period of no less than one year and a fine of no less than 100 thousand dirhams, or one of these two penalties. For anyone who trades in, imports, exports, manufactures, or brings fireworks into or out of the country without a license.

The prosecution explained, through visual content published on its digital platforms, that fireworks legally fall within the category of “explosives,” which the law defines in Article 1 of the same law.

She stressed that the legislation in force in the country categorically prohibits any dealing with these materials – whether by possession, transportation, circulation, manufacturing, or otherwise – without obtaining permits approved by the competent authorities, in accordance with the regulating legal frameworks.

This clarification comes within the framework of the Public Prosecution’s continuous approach to enhancing legal awareness and establishing a culture of compliance with the laws, which contributes to protecting society and preserving the safety of its individuals and property.
