“Parkin” launches 7 new, free permits for public parking in Dubai

Parkin announced the launch of 7 new free public parking permits through its smart application in Dubai, to facilitate parking, provide a flexible and smooth experience for citizens, residents and visitors alike, and improve the transportation experience in various regions of the emirate.

The new permits include: “Emirati residence, senior citizens, people of determination (permanent, temporary, tourist), special medical cases, and Gulf residence,” all of which are available free of charge to those eligible, with the possibility of attaching more than one vehicle to the permit according to the category and type of permit.

Emirati residence permit

Citizens benefit from free parking for one year, including all permit-bound vehicles within a 500-meter radius of their residence in areas managed by Parkin.

• Eligibility: Citizens residing in public parking areas subject to fees.

• Requirements: A copy of the title deed or rental contract approved by Ejari, and a copy of the vehicle ownership certificate in the name of the home owner or his first-degree relatives.

• Conditions: The permit is related to vehicles, and the number of vehicles allowed to be registered varies according to the size of the residence, from two vehicles for a studio apartment to five vehicles for large villas.

Statement of senior citizens

It provides free parking for citizens over 60 years of age in public parking.

• Eligibility: Citizens who are 60 years of age or older.

• Requirements: There are no additional requirements.

• Conditions: A primary vehicle and four secondary vehicles can be registered, with one vehicle activated at a time. It is not permitted to use the permit in parking lots designated for people of determination or for other parties.

Permits for people of determination

It includes three types: permanent, temporary, and tourist, and all of them allow free parking in public parking lots designated for people of determination:

• Permanent: For citizens and residents with permanent disabilities, with the possibility of connecting five vehicles, activating one at a time, and using the permit only when accompanied by the person concerned.

• Temporary: Valid for up to one year, for citizens and residents with temporary disabilities, with a maximum of five vehicles connected, and one activated at a time.

• Tourist: For visitors with disabilities, with the possibility of parking the vehicle for up to 60 days, attaching only one vehicle, and renewing or modifying it during the stay.

Statement of special medical cases

It provides free parking near medical facilities within a radius of 500 meters from the treatment place, to facilitate access to hospitals during the treatment period.

• Eligibility: Citizens and residents who have special medical conditions and go to the hospital on a regular basis.

• Requirements: A recent medical report specifying the patient’s condition and place of treatment, and proof of residence, work or study in Dubai for residents.

Gulf residence permit

Residents of Gulf Cooperation Council countries benefit from free parking within half a kilometer of their residence in the areas subject to fees.

• Eligibility: Residents of GCC countries.

• Requirements: Passport or Emirates ID, title deed or rental contract, and vehicle ownership certificate in the name of the permit holder or a first-degree relative.

Parkin confirmed that all permits are available for free through its application, allowing users to view all options and issue permits easily, which enhances the transportation experience and reduces time and effort in searching for parking, and comes within the framework of the company’s strategy to provide innovative and smart services to all segments of society in Dubai.
