1.25 million total “unprecedented” audience attendance for the Arab Cup
The 2025 Arab Cup tournament in Qatar recorded unprecedented crowd numbers, entering the history of the competition from its widest gates, after the total crowd attendance reached 1,248,457 fans, for the first time in the history of the tournament, in an edition described as the most successful publicly since its inception.
The competitions concluded with a historic final match between the teams of Morocco and Jordan at Lusail Stadium.
The final match witnessed the presence of 84,517 spectators, recording the highest audience attendance for a single match in the history of the Arab Cup, surpassing the previous record recorded during the confrontation between Saudi Arabia and Morocco in the group stage of the same edition, which was attended by 78,131 spectators.
It is noteworthy that Lusail Stadium, which hosted the final match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup between Argentina and France, witnessed a crowd attendance of 88,966 spectators, a difference of only 4,000 fans compared to the Arab Cup final.
The UAE-Saudi Arabia match, which was scheduled to determine third and fourth places, was excluded from public accounts, after it was canceled after the end of the first half, due to bad weather conditions.
The recorded numbers reflected the large amount of interaction from the Arab fans, whether local or coming from various countries to Qatar, as the stands continued to fill from the first rounds until the final scene. The group stage recorded a remarkable crowd attendance of 812,318 fans during 24 matches, a significant difference from the total number recorded in the 2021 edition, which amounted to 571,605 fans.
The quarter-finals also witnessed the attendance of 210,274 fans, while the semi-finals continued the crowd momentum with the presence of 96,723 fans in two matches. The match between Jordan and Saudi Arabia was attended by 62,825 fans, while the match between Morocco and the Emirates witnessed the presence of 33,898 fans. The preliminary round also recorded the attendance of 44,625 fans during seven matches that preceded the official start of the finals.
The distinction of the current version was not limited to the crowd numbers only, but also extended to the technical aspect, as the teams played 33 matches from the start of the finals until the final match, which witnessed 22 victories and 8 draws, including three negative and five positive draws, and 77 goals were scored with a scoring average of 2.5 goals per match. 13 penalty kicks were awarded, 10 of which were scored and 3 were missed, in addition to 80 yellow cards and 11 red cards.
