"Julphar 55" and"Earthquake 51" They win the title of the second round of the Dubai Local Rowing Race

Dubai, December 21, 2017 / WAM / The boat “Julphar 55”, owned by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, captained by Nokhatha Badr Nasser Al Shehhi, was crowned champion of the first half of the local category in the second round of the Dubai Local Rowing Race, which was organized by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club yesterday in the “Dubai Healthcare City Promenade – Phase 2” in the Al Jaddaf area.
The competitions were held in 3 rounds, with two rounds for the local category for Emiratis, and one round for the open category designated for government and private institutions.
The boat “Gold 64” owned by owner and Nokhatha Ahmed Ibrahim Al Ghamlassi came in second place for the first half, while the boat “Ras Al Khaimah 27” owned by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, captained by Nokhatha Nasser Hassan Al Kass, came in third place.
In the second half of the local category, first place was won by the boat “Zelzal 51” owned by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, captained by Nokhadha Sulaiman Ahmed Al Marai, and the boat “Wadi Ham 2” by Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, captained by Nokhadha Yousef Ali Al Shehhi, came in second place, while the boat “Al Dhahab 4” by the owner and captain Ahmed Ibrahim Al Ghamlasi came in third.
As for the open category round, the boat “Al-Dhahab 2” of the Boom Marine Boat Manufacturing Company, captained by Nokhadha Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Ghamlasi, won first place, and the boat “Bal Arab” of the Oman Olympic Committee, captained by Nokhatha Humaid Salem Al-Bahri, came in second place, while the boat “Julphar 2” of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, captained by Nokhatha Badr Nasser Al Shehhi, came third.
Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department at the Dubai International Marine Sports Club, crowned the winners, praising the technical levels presented by the participants, and stressing that the results reflect the scale of the expected competition in the 29th edition of the Al Maktoum Cup race for local rowing boats, scheduled to be held next week.
For his part, Humaid Salem Al Bahri, head of the Oman Rowing Team and representative of the Omani Marine Sports Committee, praised the atmosphere of competitions and the distinguished organization, expressing his happiness to participate alongside the brothers in the Emirates and to stand on the podium, stressing that such races enhance sports competition and embody the common societal and heritage values of the Gulf countries.
