Clashes in Aleppo coinciding with the visit of a Turkish delegation to Syria

Two people were killed on Monday and others were injured as a result of clashes that broke out in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria between government forces and Kurdish forces, coinciding with the visit of a Turkish delegation to Damascus that stressed the importance of integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces into the army, at a time when the deadline for implementing the terms of an agreement between the Kurds and the authorities is about to expire.
On Monday, the Turkish delegation, which included Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Guler, and the head of the General Intelligence Service, Ibrahim Kalin, arrived in Damascus, where they met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, in a visit that Ankara said was aimed at discussing bilateral relations and the agreement between Damascus and the Syrian Democratic Forces, which is led by the Kurds.
The Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Security Forces exchanged accusations on Monday of causing clashes in the city of Aleppo, which witnessed tension between the two sides over the past year.
The Syrian official news agency reported “a civilian casualty as a result of the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) shelling several neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo with mortar shells and rocket launchers.”
For its part, the Syrian Democratic Forces announced the killing of a woman and the wounding of six civilians, “as a result of targeting the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh by government forces.”
Earlier, the Syrian Ministry of Interior accused the Syrian Democratic Forces stationed in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Achrafieh neighborhoods in the city of attacking “the internal security forces stationed at the joint checkpoints… despite the concluded agreements,” adding that the attack led to “the injury of a member of the internal security forces and a member of the army.”
The Aleppo Governorate Information Directorate reported that three members of the Civil Defense were wounded, and civilians were not specified, following an attack by the Syrian Democratic Forces.
