Dubai Police warns of fraudulent crimes involving fake tickets for concerts, events and travel

The Anti-Fraud Center at the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Investigations in Dubai Police called on community members to purchase entry tickets to concerts, artistic, community and sports events, in addition to purchasing travel tickets through the official websites of the concerned and organizing entities only.
As part of its ongoing campaign, “Be Aware of Fraud,” Dubai Police warned of electronic fraud attempts through unreliable websites and pages that promote the illegal sale of tickets for concerts, various events, and travel tickets, taking advantage of the availability of these souvenirs and the high demand for these events.
She called for the need to be always cautious and careful when dealing with various types of websites to purchase tickets, explaining that fraudsters create fake websites or fake accounts on social media platforms bearing names close to official or well-known parties, and offer fake tickets in exchange for financial transfers or entering bank card data, so that the victim is later surprised by not receiving the ticket or discovering that sums of money have been unlawfully withdrawn.
Dubai Police confirmed that purchasing tickets can only be done through the organizers’ official websites or approved platforms, with the need to ensure the validity of electronic links, review secure payment methods, and avoid offers that appear significantly lower than the usual price, calling for the necessity of immediately reporting fake websites and platforms, or any fraud attempt, via the Dubai Police smart application, calling 901, or via the ecrime platform for receiving cybercrime reports.
