The Ministry of Sports approves the formation of the Board of Directors of the UAE Electronic Sports Federation

Dubai, December 24 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, approved the decision to form the Board of Directors of the Emirates Electronic Sports Federation, headed by Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Sultan bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan.

The council’s membership included: Saeed Ali Al-Taher, Abdullah Tariq bin Khadiya, Obaid Awad Al-Taniji, Mona Majid Al-Falasi, Ibrahim Yousef Khoury, and Maryam Yousef Al-Batran.

Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Sultan bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan stressed that the next stage requires more work in order to develop the e-sports system in the Emirates and enhance its position at the regional and international levels.

He added: “The next stage will witness a greater focus on supporting national talent, expanding the base of practitioners, and creating an integrated professional environment that contributes to creating champions capable of competing in major international tournaments, as the Federation is keen to strengthen partnerships with government and private agencies, ensuring sustainable growth and providing the best technical and organizational capabilities.”

He explained that the continuous support that e-sports receives constitutes an essential foundation for achieving ambitions, stressing that the Federation works according to a clear vision that keeps pace with the rapid development in this sector, and contributes to consolidating the country’s position as a leading regional center for e-sports.
