"Abu Dhabi Public Health" Launches a smart indoor air quality monitor "Your whim"

Abu Dhabi, December 25 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Public Health Center launched the Indoor Air Quality Observatory “Hawakum”, which represents a qualitative shift in the system for monitoring indoor air pollutants in the emirate, as it is considered one of the pioneering projects within the strategy of the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre.

The observatory relies on the latest scientific technologies and high-precision sensors to provide real-time data and advanced analyzes of air quality in schools, homes and other indoor places, to cover large areas of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The observatory aims to enhance awareness of the importance of maintaining and monitoring air quality inside buildings and facilities in the emirate, as it is a crucial factor in the health and safety of residents. To achieve this goal, the observatory relies on an advanced methodology that includes installing advanced monitoring devices in selected locations, which allows continuous monitoring of the most important indoor air pollutants, where the monitored data is collected and reflected immediately on the control panel, which supports accurate monitoring and data-based decision-making.

The Hawakam Observatory represents one of the pillars of Abu Dhabi’s strategic direction in the field of environmental health, in line with the National Air Quality Agenda 2031, which focuses on monitoring, mitigation and effective management of air quality.

Through the “Hawakom” control panel, the observatory provides a comprehensive data analysis, allowing specialists and decision makers to take immediate proactive and corrective measures, ensuring the provision of healthy and safe indoor environments. This program is a qualitative step within the emirate’s efforts to achieve sustainability, enhance public health, and improve the quality of life.

His Excellency Dr. Rashid Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health, said that Abu Dhabi continues its pioneering efforts in protecting community health and improving the quality of life, stressing that the “Indoor Air Quality Observatory – Hawakum” is a strategic tool that enhances the emirate’s capabilities in smart monitoring of health risks, and contributes to protecting community health and supporting future planning based on accurate data.

He explained that the commitment to innovation and employing the latest technologies reflects the emirate’s keenness to provide healthy and safe indoor environments for current and future generations, in a way that supports the promotion of public health and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
