المملكة: The average Umrah journey takes 117 minutes… 94% of pilgrims perform Tawaf in the courtyard

The results of the field experiment for the guest of the Most Merciful while performing Umrah, which was carried out by the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque during the month of Jumada al-Akhirah 1447 AH, showed that the average time of the Umrah trip reached 117 minutes, in an indicator that reflects the development of the crowd management system and raising the efficiency of operation inside the Grand Mosque.

The data showed that 94%of Umrah pilgrims perform Tawaf in The courtyard, which reflects the flow of movement and the effectiveness of the distribution of paths within the central area, while the average duration of the circumambulation was 46 minutes.

Balance between different roles

The results of the experiment showed that the average duration of the sa’i was 51 minutes, with 64% of the pilgrims performing the sa’i on the ground floor, which contributes to achieving a balance between the different floors and reducing crowding levels, in addition to facilitating movement between rituals.

Indicators also revealed that the average time of moving from the courtyards to the mat was 10 minutes, while the move from the mat to the Masa’ took 10 minutes, which reflects the efficiency of the spatial connectivity and operational organization between the ritual sites. .

These indicators come within the efforts of the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, which aims to improve the experience of the guests of God, enhance the quality of services provided, and raise the level of safety and smoothness, in line with the goals of developing the Umrah system, and ensuring the performance of rituals with reassurance and ease.
