المملكة: Urgent – For the first time… sacrificial animals are slaughtered in restaurants and wedding halls

The Ministry, through its secretariats and affiliated municipalities, announced that these licensed establishments were able to provide slaughtering services in a regular and easy manner.

She explained that this regulatory step aims to improve customer experience, and distribute slaughter points geographically to relieve pressure on SlaughterhousesHome.She indicated that the decision contributes to enhancing the participation of private sector establishments in providing services to the population in accordance with the highest approved health standards.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing stated that obtaining a temporary permit requires concluding a contract with a veterinarian to directly supervise slaughter operations and provide health certificates for workers.
It stressed the necessity of allocating and equipping independent sites for slaughtering, skinning, and cutting, categorically prohibiting the implementation of these operations inside the preparation and cooking halls in those facilities.
The Ministry obligated the establishments to contract with a company approved by the municipality to remove the waste, and to provide designated containers for it, with the necessity of using water suitable for human consumption.
It required the provision of the necessary equipment and tools, in addition to providing special containers to collect bones, remains of carcasses, skins, and hair in a healthy manner.
She stressed the importance of organizing work processes to prevent the accumulation of slaughtered animals, and facilitating procedures by providing a numbering service to beneficiaries.
It concluded its requirements by obligating kitchens, restaurants, and wedding halls to install a prominent signboard showing the approved slaughter prices inside the site.
