The Saudi firm move towards developments in southern Yemen came as a continuation of its permanent approach to preserving the security of the region and supporting stability in the brotherly state of Yemen, as it represents the UAE side putting pressure on The forces of the Southern Transitional Council to carry out military operations on the southern borders of the Kingdom as a threat to the national security of the Kingdom and the security and stability of Yemen, which is inconsistent with the foundations upon which the coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen was based.

The Kingdom confirmed that any infringement or threat to its national security is a red line against which the Kingdom will not hesitate to take all necessary steps and measures to confront and neutralize it.

Response to Yemen’s decisions

The Kingdom stressed the importance of the UAE’s response to The Republic of Yemen by withdrawing its military forces from Yemeni territory within 24 hours and stopping any financial or military support for any party inside Yemen.

The Kingdom looks forward to wisdom prevailing and the principles of brotherhood, good neighborliness and close relations that bring together the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the interest of brotherly Yemen to take the hoped-for steps to maintain bilateral relations between the two countries.

A just cause and the solution is in dialogue

Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra have made unremitting efforts with all figures and active parties in the Yemeni government, including the governor of Hadhramaut Governorate, tribal sheikhs, and leaders of the two governorates, with the aim of calming the situation and enhancing security and stability.

The Riyadh Agreement and the Rights of Southerners

The Riyadh Agreement ensured the participation of southerners in power, and opened the way towards a just solution to their issue agreed upon by all through dialogue. The Kingdom also blessed the decision to transfer power, which allowed southerners an effective presence in state institutions, and established the principle of partnership instead of exclusion or imposing a fait accompli by force.

The Kingdom has continued to communicate with the Emirati side and the Southern Transitional Council since they carried out the military operation outside the framework of the state and without the approval of the Yemeni Presidential Command Council, and without the knowledge of the leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, to end the escalation and remove the forces of the Southern Transitional Council from the two governorates. (Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra) are among the camps that were seized and handed over to the National Shield Forces by the local authorities.
