Manchester United continues to “bleed”… this time against a team competing for survival!

Manchester United continued to lose points and fell into the trap of a draw for the second time in a row, and again against a team competing for survival, against its host Leeds United 1-1, today, Sunday, in the 20th stage of the English Football League.
United’s stumble came in the second consecutive match in which its captain, Bruno Fernandes, was absent due to injury, knowing that the team had defeated Newcastle United 1-0 without him before that.
This is the second disappointing draw for the team of Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, after the one that came against Wolverhampton (1-1), bottom of the standings in the last stage.
Although he scored only four goals in the last four matches, Amorim confirmed on the eve of the confrontation with Leeds that his team is not thinking about signing players in the winter transfer market, knowing that Fernandes’ return is close, and that there is a large group of players on the list of absences, either for injury or for their participation in the African Cup of Nations.
With this draw, United raised its score to 31 points in fifth place temporarily, and Leeds to 22 points in sixteenth place, eight points behind West Ham, eighteenth in the position leading to relegation.
The first half witnessed some opportunities to score, the most dangerous of which was a header from the recently brilliant scorer, Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds), which touched the right post of the goal (35), and another header from the Frenchman Lenny Euro, which was also blocked by Belgian goalkeeper Ceni Lamins (40).
In the second half, Czech Benjamin Shishko had a great opportunity inside the area after a cross from Brazilian Casemiro, but he finished it with a lack of accuracy (54), before American Brenden Aaronson opened the scoring for Leeds after he beat Euro to the ball after an incorrect pass and shot the ball to the left of the goal (62).
But Brazilian Matheus Cunha disrupted Leeds’ equalizing celebrations with a shot inside the area, taking advantage of a long pass from Dutchman Joshua Zirkse, who came on for Euro and scored the goal after less than a minute (65).
Swiss Noah Okafor tried to score the second for Leeds, but goalkeeper Lammens prevented him (74), before Kunya also tried for United, which hit the left post (81).
A second draw comes after United fans were hoping for nine points that were supposed to be within reach, including an upcoming confrontation with Burnley, the nineteenth, in the round-robin stage.
