Son surpasses Messi in the opening of the American League

South Korean Heung-Min Son defeated Argentine Lionel Messi on Saturday in a confrontation with the two stars of the American Football League, and led Los Angeles FC to a major victory over Inter Miami 3-0 in the opening matches of the tournament.
Son, who arrived from English club Tottenham in a deal believed to be a record, provided an assist in the first goal scored by Venezuelan David Martinez (38), before Gabon added Denis Bouanga II (73) and Salvadoran substitute Nathan Ordaz III (90+4).
Led by the powerful attacking trio of the black and gold team, Son easily made his way through Miami’s defense throughout the match, amid loud cheering from about 76,000 spectators, the second largest crowd attendance in the history of the American League.
This is the fourth season for Messi, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star, in the American League.
