Facing Shabab Al-Ahly “a real turning point”

Al-Wasl player Nicolas Jimenez described his team’s next match against Shabab Al-Ahly in the 18th round of the professional league at Zabeel Stadium as a “difficult Clasico” that represents a “real turning point” in the team’s journey this season, stressing that the victory will be an essential step towards achieving the team’s goal of being in the top three places in the league.
Jimenez told Emirates Al-Youm after Al-Wasl’s difficult victory over Al-Bataeh with a 1-0 win in round 17: “The match was the most difficult and sensitive in the recent period due to its technical conditions and the expulsion of one of Al-Wasl’s players, before we succeeded in maintaining the lead until the final whistle.”
He added: “It was necessary for us to win over Al-Bataeh before the Al-Ahly Youth Summit. This type of victory restores confidence and gives the team a great morale boost. If we succeed in winning tomorrow, we will be very close to our goal of being among the first three teams.”
He added: “The Shabab Al-Ahly match is unlike any other match. We will face a team that has high quality and experience in dealing with major confrontations, so we must enter it with great focus and not repeat the mistakes of the last match.”
