The Quarter Qarn Center for Theater and Performing Arts launches its artistic vision for the year 2026


Sharjah, 11 January / WAM / Yesterday, the Quarter Qarn Center for Theater and Performing Arts organized an “Open Day” event at the Sajaya Girls headquarters in Sharjah, coinciding with the Arab Theater Day in an annual event aimed at opening a space for direct dialogue with members, attendees, parents, trainers and supporters to discuss the future of the theater and performing arts project, review the achievements of 2025, and reveal artistic programs and plans for the year 2026.
The event was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Noman, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, Khawla Al Hawai, Director of the Sharjah Children Foundation, Sheikha Al Shamsi, Director of the Sajaya Girls Foundation of Sharjah, and Khaled Al Nakhi, Director of the Sharjah Foundation for Capacity Development, along with a number of artists and officials.
The event formed an interactive platform to evaluate the experience of the Quarter Qarn Center for Theater and Performing Arts over the past year, measure the knowledge of the members, and listen to their future vision about theater and performing arts, in addition to pointing out the distinguished and honoring the winners in a framework that reflects the spirit of partnership and integration in building humanity through the arts.
Khaled Al-Nakhi stressed that organizing the “Theatre Open Day” stems from the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation’s belief in the importance of theater as an effective educational and creative space in building people, developing awareness, and enhancing expression and teamwork skills among children, adolescents, and youth, noting that theater constitutes one of the basic pillars of the Foundation’s cultural and knowledge project.
For his part, Dr. Adnan Salloum, an expert in theatrical arts, announced the new package of theatrical programs and events for the Quarter Qarn Center for Theater and Performing Arts, explaining that these programs constitute the work map for the next stage and combine the artistic, educational and societal dimensions in a way that enhances the role of theater in building capabilities and developing imagination.
He pointed out that the announced programs include seasonal events and ongoing programs, including Ramadan events and weekend theatre, in addition to the launch of the quarter-century season for theater and performing arts, which presents the training outcomes in creative performances open to the public, as well as projects that enhance the theater’s presence in the community and educational spaces, such as the university theater project and the Al-Furjan Theater project, in addition to a group of specialized and developmental programs that aim to hone the skills of members and expand the horizons of the theatrical experience, which reflects the center’s vision of providing a comprehensive and sustainable theatrical experience.
The official ceremony program included various artistic and cultural activities, which began with an artistic opening with a theatrical scene that embodied the spirit of the theatrical experience embraced by the center, in addition to the screening of a documentary film that reviewed the center’s most prominent achievements, activities, and theatrical participation during the year 2015.
The ceremony concluded with a ceremony honoring the winners of the “Al Furjan Theater” project, which aims to involve Al Furjan Sharjah in the experience of theater and creativity. The distinguished members were also honored in appreciation of their contributions and efforts during the past year.
