Etihad Airways will transport 22.4 million passengers during 2025

ABU DHABI, 12 JANUARY / WAM / Etihad Airways carried 22.4 million passengers during 2025, an increase of 21% year-on-year, supported by continued demand and growth in capacity across its growing global network.

According to a press release issued today by the carrier, the seat occupancy rate for last year reached 88.3%, an increase of two percentage points compared to 2024, which reflects the strong commercial performance throughout the year.

The company concluded 2025 with a strong performance, transporting 2.2 million passengers last December, an increase of 28% compared to the same month in 2024.

The seat occupancy rate for the month was 87.6%, maintaining high utilization rates during the peak travel season at the end of the year.

At the end of the year, Etihad Airways’ fleet reached 127 aircraft, after adding 29 aircraft during 2025, which is the largest annual expansion in the company’s history.

This growth included the introduction of the Airbus A321LR aircraft, which expanded the range of distinguished services provided by Etihad to include a greater number of short- and medium-haul flights, and supported the continued expansion of its flight network.

According to the carrier, Etihad Airways’ growth during 2025 represented approximately 40% of the total passenger growth in the United Arab Emirates, based on the expected growth recorded in air traffic throughout the country, which reflects the company’s pivotal role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s tourism and economic ambitions.

Antonualdo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said that 2025 was a year full of steady growth for Etihad Airways, as it transported more than 22 million passengers, the highest annual number in its history, while maintaining high occupancy rates and distinguished operational performance throughout the year.

He added that closing the year with a record number last December reflects the company’s customers’ confidence in its products and services, and thanks to its fleet of 127 aircraft, the largest in its history, Etihad Airways is in a better position than ever to transport more visitors to Abu Dhabi, and provide distinctive travel experiences for its guests through our rapidly growing global network.
