المملكة: King Abdulaziz Dara launches a program to serve scholarship students


In the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Chairman of the Board of Directors Scholarship, expanding its specific fields, and linking it to national research and knowledge needs, at the Dara’s headquarters in the King Abdulaziz Historical Center.

During the signing ceremony, it was announced the launch of "King Abdulaziz Dara program for serving scholarship students" As one of the main outputs of the memorandum, it is concerned with enhancing scientific communication with scholarship students, and enabling them to benefit from the Department’s research and scientific resources and digital services, including documents, manuscripts, photos, maps, rare books, and archival records, in a way that contributes to directing their academic research to serve the history of the Kingdom and its national memory.

The program aims to provide scientific, advisory, and methodological support to scholarship students, and to allow their participation in specialized courses and workshops, and to provide Opportunities for scientific publishing and knowledge cooperation, in addition to benefiting from "Visiting Researcher Program" In accordance with the approved controls, in a way that enhances the quality of research outputs during and after the scholarship period.

Training and qualifying scholarship students

The King Abdulaziz Foundation was represented in signing the memorandum by the CEO, Mr. Turki bin Muhammad Al-Shuwaier, while the Undersecretary for Scholarship, Dr. Lina bint Muhammad Al-Tuaimi, signed on behalf of the Ministry of Education, within the framework of aligning scholarship paths with national priorities in the fields of history, social studies, and cognitive content.

The memorandum of understanding included a number of cooperation paths, the most prominent of which was studying the benefit of scholarship programs approved within the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ scholarship program, and examining the possibility of developing specific scholarship paths and specializations related to the fields of work of the King Abdulaziz Foundation, in addition to cooperation in training and qualifying scholarship students and graduates, and building specialized training programs in historical research, archiving, documentary preservation, and knowledge content management.

It also included The memorandum stipulates cooperation in organizing joint workshops, scientific meetings, seminars and conferences for scholarship students, studying ways to document the history of scholarship in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and exchanging scientific and methodological experiences, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of academic outputs and enhancing specialized scientific research related to the history of the Kingdom.

This memorandum comes within the framework of supporting the trend towards developing qualitative scholarships, and linking it to prestigious international universities, which contributes to the preparation of scientifically qualified national cadres. In research, it is capable of transferring global academic expertise and employing it in serving the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and enhancing its cognitive and institutional presence at the regional and international levels.
