The culture of winning continues… and the goal of Shabab Al-Ahly is to win the league

Shabab Al-Ahly coach, Portuguese Paulo Sousa, said that his team continued to play strong football after defeating Ajman 3-1, yesterday, in the postponed match of the 10th round of the ADNOC Professional League, at Rashid Stadium in Dubai, stressing that the culture of winning in the club continues and the goal is to crown the league title.
Souza added to “Emirates Today”: “We presented a very distinguished first half. We played wonderful football and were able to score more than one goal. What we trained on we succeeded in applying on the field, and the continuation of victories reflects the character of the team and the winning culture that we are working to establish.”
He continued: “I am happy and proud of what the players are doing. The match was strong against the Ajman team, which has good players and plays competitive football, and was a real opponent, but our players handled the match correctly and created many opportunities.”
Shabab Al-Ahly coach explained: “Since I took over coaching the team, there has been only one goal, which is to win championships. We work to control the course of the matches, maintain continuity, and create opportunities to score goals, while constantly improving performance.”
Souza pointed out that the only loss this season came against Al Ain, stressing: “That match we did not deserve to lose. We were the best, but in football the details make the difference. Our permanent goal is to win every match and compete strongly for the top of the league.”
He concluded: “Being close to the top is normal for a team that always plays to win. I am proud of all the club employees and players for what they provide, and our goal will always remain to achieve championships.”
With its victory over Ajman, Shabab Al Ahly raised its score to 29 points, making it only one point away from Al Ain, the “leader,” one round before the end of the first round of the league, while Ajman’s score froze at 13 points in ninth place, facing its third loss in a row.
The first half witnessed a clear superiority for Shabab Al-Ahly, as Matthews Silva opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after a distinguished dribble and a powerful shot that went into the net, before Bala added the second goal in the 30th minute after a successful follow-up to a cross that he turned into the goal.
Before the end of the first half, Ajman was able to reduce the difference through Walid Azaro with a shot that changed direction into the net, ending the half with Shabab Al Ahly leading 2-1.
In the second half, Shabab Al-Ahly continued their advantage, and Sultan Adel succeeded in scoring the third goal after the ball bounced off the Ajman goalkeeper and was ready in front of him, and he shot it into the net, making the score 3-1. Despite the attempts of both teams after that, the result did not change until the final whistle.
Shabab Al-Ahly is scheduled to meet in the next round with Dibba at Rashid Stadium, while Al-Ain will face its guest, Al-Wahda, who is in third place, in an anticipated confrontation that may decide the lead at the end of the first round.
