The Head of State and the Senegalese President discuss strengthening cooperation relations

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received yesterday the President of the Republic of Senegal, Passero Diomay Fay, who is on a working visit to the country, during which he participated in the activities of “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026”.

During the meeting, which took place at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, the two sides discussed various paths of cooperation and joint work and opportunities to enhance it, especially in the economic and trade fields, renewable energy, sustainability, infrastructure, and other fields that serve the development priorities and common interests of the two countries, in a way that brings goodness and development to their peoples.

The meeting touched on the importance of the topics and issues presented by “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026” in all its sessions, and its role in enhancing joint international cooperation, establishing awareness of sustainability issues and developing innovative solutions to common global challenges, which contributes to accelerating the pace of sustainable development and building a more prosperous future for all. During the meeting, His Highness and the Senegalese President also exchanged views on a number of topics and issues of common interest.

The two sides affirmed their mutual keenness to continue strengthening the strong Emirati-Senegalese relations, which have witnessed continuous development over decades, and to expand the base of their development partnerships to advance sustainable economic growth, and open new horizons for constructive cooperation that meets the aspirations of the two countries towards progress and prosperity.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, and a number of ministers and senior state officials.
