UAE University discusses keeping up with technical developments and their integration with curricula and specializations
Al Ain, January 16, 2026: Participants in the sixth session of the “Academic Discussions” initiative organized by the United Arab Emirates University, under the title “The University’s Academic Vision 2026,” discussed a number of main topics related to keeping pace with rapid technical developments, their integration with the requirements of different curricula and specializations, and the effectiveness of their use and various applications.
They reviewed the efforts of the various colleges at the university towards the new research, scientific and academic trends for the year 2026, the future requirements for scientific research, how to align academic programs with the needs of the labor market, and the development of study plans, in accordance with international best practices, and the most prominent initiatives of the colleges at the academic level and scientific research in this context, and what it requires to enhance the efficiency of educational outcomes, in addition to supporting the academic environment that stimulates excellence and innovation.
The session, which was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Raisi, President of the University, in addition to the participation of a number of deputies, college deans, department directors, and master’s and doctoral students, comes within the framework of the university’s keenness to enhance institutional dialogue and develop its academic system in keeping with national and global changes in higher education and scientific research.
During the session, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Ali Al-Raisi stressed the importance of discussing the features of the future vision of the UAE University for the year 2026, through several axes, including: aligning academic programs with national priorities and the labor market, developing multidisciplinary programs, reviewing strategic directions related to developing academic programs, improving the quality of innovative education and digital learning, in addition to enhancing integration between education and scientific research, enhancing the student experience and learning outcomes, and directing scientific research towards national challenges in a way that supports innovation and academic entrepreneurship.
He pointed out the importance of employing modern technologies in education and evaluation, and the responsible and ethical use of technology, in a way that contributes to achieving the university’s mission, which is supporting and developing academic competencies and strategic partnerships through the development of faculty members, in addition to attracting talents and competencies, and strengthening academic partnerships and international cooperation, in order to achieve the university’s vision and its role as a leading national institution in higher education and scientific research in the country.
The session comes as part of a series of strategic initiatives organized by the UAE University, confirming its leadership role in developing the higher education system and strengthening the institutional partnership between academic and administrative leaders, which contributes to achieving excellence and academic sustainability.
