"Al Dhafra Book" It will be launched tomorrow with the participation of 110 local publishing houses displaying 55,000 titles

ABU DHABI, 18 JANUARY / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center is organizing the activities of the sixth session of the Al Dhafra Book Festival during the period from 19 to 25 January 2026, under the slogan “Irrigating and Irrigating Al Dhafra”, in Madinat Zayed Public Park in the Al Dhafra Region, with the participation of 110 local publishing houses, displaying 55,000 titles in various sources of knowledge.

In this session, the Al Dhafra Book Festival recorded a 10% increase in the number of participating publishing houses compared to the previous session.

The festival includes an integrated program of events, including cultural and artistic sessions, and the fourth edition of the “Poetry Nights: Voices That People Loved” program, which hosts a group of Al Dhafra poets to recite their poems and perform performances of folklore arts.

The festival’s activities were prepared in light of a deep understanding of Al Dhafra’s privacy and uniqueness, with the aim of developing the cultural landscape of the region and strengthening its residents’ connection to their ancient heritage.

This edition of the festival offers more qualitative activities, within the children, youth and family programme, and launches innovative initiatives that consolidate belonging to the Emirati cultural, literary and artistic heritage, and strengthens young people’s connection to reading, through an integrated family experience, in line with the UAE’s wise leadership’s declaration of the year 2026 as the Year of the Family, and a translation of Abu Dhabi’s strategy to strengthen national identity.

For the first time, the event witnesses the allocation of special pavilions for Sandooq Al Watan, the Fatima Bint Hazza Cultural Foundation, the Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities, and the Trends Center for Research and Consultation.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the festival will hold on January 20, in the historic Al Dhafra Fort, a ceremony honoring the winners of the third session of the “Gold Narrative” Award, which is organized annually by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, with the aim of honoring creativity and reviving the arts of popular narrative, which constitute an essential part of Arab culture.

The Al Dhafra Book Festival derives its vision from the rich local cultural heritage of the region, to perpetuate the values ​​of belonging and creativity, and to support its mission of building a reading generation linked to the heritage and authentic values ​​of Emirati society, empowering youth, and consolidating the distinctive position of the Al Dhafra region on the cultural scene in the country.
